Why Harmony Doesn’t Truly Exist In This World

I want world peace just as much as the next person.  As a realist, I know the phenomenon will never occur, unless drastic changes are attained.

What are some attributes as to why humans cause harm and do not at least try to promote harmony?

If this question could answered then one may not expect an Utopian world per say, however the result could create more tranquility.  It may be as simple as just two of the “seven deadly sins:” greed and pride.

The world is run by those with money and materials.  Those select individuals have great authority, power, and opportunity to make whatever, to an extent, they want out of their lives and the lives of others.

Once you give to charity or do volunteer work, you will see others in a whole new light.  What is the point in obtaining a respectable role in society if you trampled over the weak to reach your “goal.”  Do not allow yourself to become infactuated in possessions.  To show kindness and selflessness is way more rewarding than any amount of money accessible.

The act of having too much self-pride could be seen as a lesser significant flaw.  But, it is the common denominator that led a character in a greek tragedy or a person in modern day to a downfall.

Many conflicts are usually rooted by a person or group of people who feel that they are either of the higher race or of the higher intellect.  Pride gets the most of people of high status or wealth and it is the most devastating when it overtakes someone to the point that they are unaware of their haughtiness.

Furthermore social tension will disappear when greed and pride become characteristics that only our ancestors possessed.  But, untill we evolve into more giving and humble people, the world will never experience the true capabilities of people working and living together without any meaningful stresses or complications.

Honesty is the direction we all need to go in.  If we all strive to make things right and share our feelings openly, we may see a more positive society.

We all are part of the same intangible, yet fragile, life.  Why can’t we all understand one another and feel for the other.

“All we are saying is give peace a chance;” words from John Lennon.
